The Sing-a-long JukeBox

One of Mike's favorite types of performance is the sing-a-long and one of his heroes is Pete Seeger (the man in the background of this page). The sing-a-long is the most democratic form of musical communion - everyone throws their voice into the stew and the result is a rich mix that is carried as much by the emotions of the people involved as by any native skill they might have at singing.

What could be more democratic than that?

The Sing-a-long Jukebox tries to further the traition: it's an opportunity for the audience to participate in selecting as well as singing familiar songs they know and love. Part of each performance is the audience balloting. A list of songs is presented to the audience and each member votes for their favorites. Depending on the length of the show, we perform the songs with the audience singing along.

This site will post the balloting history from each event at which a Sing-a-long Jukebox is performed.
